A1 results: Organization of an information, education and recruitment campaign a to the target group with the priority of raising awareness a the importance of preventive health services regarding how to spread, prevention and treatment of SARS COV2 infection and TB

 

            PERIOD NOVEMBER-DECEMBER 2023

      As part of this ongoing process, we have been able to involve over 450 vulnerable people from poor rural communities in the county Mures. This group includes 366 people of Roma ethnicity, with limited access to essential prevention and healthcare services, which have been informed comprehensively about the transmission, prevention and symptoms of tuberculosis (TB) and COVID-19.

      In our ongoing outreach and education efforts, we distributed to date more than 450 informative materials in the form of brochures and leaflets to patients, vulnerable groups and the general population from poor rural communities, including people of Roma ethnicity.

      For the continuous evaluation of the quality of medical services and access to them, we implemented specialized questionnaires, collecting data relevant from the vulnerable population involved in the project. This approach us provides essential information for the continuous adjustment and optimization of the services offered.

      In parallel with achieving these results, we have developed a base of comprehensive data, containing detailed information about the target group. It serves as an essential tool for proper reporting and to guide the next stages of the project, which remains in deployment. 

 

A2 reaslts: Making investments in health infrastructure from Mures county which contributes to the reduction of inequalities in the state of health of vulnerable groups participating in the project

      One 8+1 van was purchased in November.

      From January starts the rehabilitation of the TB Dispensary.

      The procurement procedure for the X-ray machine has been started.

 

A3 results: Development and implementation of an integrated program socio-medical prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and monitoring at the level of vulnerable communities in Mures county, adapted to needs the population from vulnerable communities, including Roma, of priority diseases for public health (COVID-19 and Tuberculosis). 

During the screening campaign 22.10.2023-31.12.2023 the following activities were carried out:

      10 visits were made to 8 vulnerable communities from Mureș county: Cipau, Beica de Jos, Sanger, Daia, Bahnea, Zagar, Balda, Lunca Muresului-Center for care and assistance

      a total of 260 people were tested, included in the target group, of which:

          -244 people were RT-PCR tested;

         -248 people were GENEXPERT tested.

A4 results: Organization of a training program for participating medical personnel in the project regarding prevention, early diagnosis and monitoring the evolution of epidemiological risk situations.-Activitate finalizată

 

      In the period 4-5.10.2023, the training activity was carried out a medical personnel in the field of prevention of infection with SARS COV-2 and TB addressed community assistants and health mediators from Mureș County, inclusive from poor rural communities. A total of 44 people were present, of which 9 health mediators and 35 community assistants.

      Also, during the period 19-20.10.2023, the activity was carried out training of medical personnel in the field of prevention of SARS COV-2 infection and TB addressed to doctors in TB clinics, family doctors and medical assistants employed in TB Dispensaries in the county. They were present a number of 41 people, of which 8 pulmonologists from the TB Dispensaries from the county, 15 family doctors from the county and 18 medical assistants from TB dispensaries and family doctors' offices.

      These training activities were organized and supported according to a plan. The training sessions took place during a two days for each category separately, 6 hours/day, at the headquarters Mureș County Clinical Hospital. The team of trainers hired, under the coordination The medical skills development expert, developed the training agenda and informational materials that have been distributed to learners.
